نفى مركز الفلك الدولي عبر حساته الرسمية على فيسبوك وتويتر، صحّة الصورة، موضّحًا أن الصورة قديمة كما هو مبيّن في أعلاها، حيثالتقت الصورة بتاريخ 2 أبريل 2022.
كما نوّه أن رؤية الهلال اليوم حتى باستخدام تقنية التصوير الفلكي صعبة جدًا، ويؤكد على أخذ المعلومات الفلكية وصور الهلال من مصادرمعلومة وموثوقة.
